Rebecca Rechtszaid, Entertainment and Music Attorney

Rebecca Rechtszaid is an entertainment and music attorney and the founder of Rechtszaid Law, P.C. She represents creative people and businesses across the entertainment industry and the broader creator economy.

Her path to entertainment law didn't start in a classroom. It started in rehearsal rooms. Rebecca spent 12 years studying voice, sang in garage bands, did some light stage and crew work, and was embedded in the South Florida music scene long before she could put a name to what an entertainment lawyer actually did.

At Harvard Law School, she served as President of the Recording Artists Project, organizing pro bono contract review clinics for independent musicians who couldn't afford legal representation. It was there that she came to understand what was truly at stake when artists didn't have access to good counsel, and what changed when they did.

After law school, Rebecca practiced at Paul Hastings LLP in its entertainment group, then moved in-house to Global Music Rights, part of the Azoff Company, handling business and legal affairs for a roster of major artists. She later joined Meta, where she led legal for creator programs across the company. That combination of BigLaw rigor, music industry depth, and creator economy fluency is rare, and it shapes every engagement at Rechtszaid Law.

The firm centers on the intersection of music law and creator law: record deals, brand partnerships, licensing, IP, trademark, copyright, and business formation. Rebecca's approach is simple. Clients should understand their contracts, know what the clauses actually mean, and feel equipped long after the deal is signed.

Outside of work, she's a dog mom to River, a Shetland sheepdog. She's been a vegetarian for over 23 years, built her own PC, is an avid gamer, a dedicated metalhead, and a lifelong Freddie Mercury fan.
