Rebecca Rechtszaid is an entertainment and music attorney and the founder of Rechtszaid Law, P.C. She represents musicians, creators, and creative businesses at the intersection of the traditional music industry and the modern creator economy.

Rebecca's path to entertainment law started well before law school. She spent 12 years studying voice, sang with bands, worked in audio, and was embedded in the South Florida music scene long before she could articulate what an entertainment lawyer actually did. That hands-on experience — the rehearsals, the bookings, the deals-made-on-a-handshake — shapes how she practices today.

At Harvard Law School, she served as President of the Recording Artists Project, where she organized pro bono contract review clinics for independent musicians who couldn't afford legal representation. It was there she understood what was at stake when artists didn't have access to good counsel — and what it meant when they did.

After law school, Rebecca practiced at Paul Hastings LLP within its entertainment practice, then moved in-house to Global Music Rights, where she handled business and legal affairs for the company's roster of major artists. She later joined Meta, where she worked on creator programs, overseeing legal and policy matters for one of the world's largest creator platforms. That combination of BigLaw rigor, music industry depth, and creator economy experience is rare — and it informs every engagement at Rechtszaid Law.

The firm focuses on the intersection of music law and creator law: record deals, brand partnerships, licensing, IP, trademark, copyright, and business formation. Rebecca's philosophy is straightforward — clients should understand their contracts, what the clauses actually mean, and what to watch for long after the deal is signed.

Outside of work, Rebecca is a dog mom to River, a Shetland sheepdog. She's been a vegetarian for over 23 years, built her own PC, is an avid gamer, a dedicated metal head, and a lifelong Freddie Mercury fan — which perhaps explains the name.
